Energy Recovery Unit

The KSN Energy Recovery Unit makes use of the energy in one single, mechanical cycle and optimises the use of energy significantly. When the parts are washed in different steps with 60 degrees Celsius hot water, steam from the washing compartments is sucked up through the KSN Energy Recovery Unit. Through internal pipes air with room temperature (24 degrees Celsius) is sucked in. The difference in temperature makes the steam condense, like rain. The process water is collected and returned to the washing compartment, where it is reused.

Did it
work?

Not many are aware that it’s completely normal for industrial part washers, with heated water, to waste 70% or more of all the process energy directly into the ventilation systems. The production facilities in Grundfos Bjerringbro counts more than 75 part washers.
